I spent yesterday getting things organized for the KR Retreat this weekend. I went through my yarn stash and collected a shopping bag full of yarn for the swap table. Can someone tell me why it is so hard to let go of yarn and yet, so easy to acquire it? There were still a fair number or skeins I kept in my stash because some day I might need them. And any yarn that could feasibly be used to knit a baby garment was put away for a rainy day. (Side note to my daughters, "Ahem!")
I also prepared project bags, complete with needles and yarn, for the retreat classes. It is very unusual for me to be packed several days ahead of time. I am definitely a last minute packer.
I ended up with 2 shopping bags of trash. Some of the trash consisted of small balls of yarns (less than 1 inch in diameter). Why would I save these? The other items tossed included many bags, plastic and paper, that I had saved. Why, I don't know.
I've been going through a period of constantly losing items. Maybe I just have too much "stuff" in my life and it's time to pare down.

I am so excited to be leaving soon -- I don't have any yarn to bring but I will bring a book I ordered 2 of by mistake - that is what happens when you have been knitting about 1 year -- just wait till next year though :D
